What signficance did the first meeting with the Federal Association of Contergan Victims have for you?

"This was a very moving meeting. I have great respect for thalidomide victims and am deeply impressed with the way they master and describe their current situation. My family and I are deeply touched by the thalidomide tragedy. I, together with my entire family, thoroughly regret what happened 50 years ago. Even though I hadn't even been born at that time I would like now to try and reappraise the thalidomide tragedy jointly with the thalidomide victims as a third generation family member".
